DUBAI: Bahraini authorities have confirmed receiving a shipment of anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) as a possible treatment for the new coronavirus, the Bahrain News Agency reported.
The country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has thanked the Indian government for the delivery of HCQ, which has been widely imported from the South Asian country for its potential in treating COVID-19 patients.
Bahrain has over 2,000 cases of the virus, with a death toll of seven.
