RIYADH: The Princess Seetah bint Abdul Aziz Award for Excellence in Social Work dedicated its eighth session to “social work in the face of crises and risks” in reaction to the coronavirus crisis.
The launch of the award’s eighth session raised awareness of its social role in face of the global pandemic.
The secretary-general of the award, Fahd Al-Maghlouth, said the award is vital amid the difficult circumstances facing the world and the Kingdom due to the virus and its affects on the community.
He noted that the award’s secretariat chose the title of the eighth session to encourage government authorities and the private sector to support programs amid the crisis.
Plans could include community safety programs or initiatives for tackling crises.
