LONDON: A day after a gilded coronation ceremony watched by millions, King Charles III and Queen Camilla had a much more relaxing time Sunday as they took in a concert featuring Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and others at Windsor Castle.
Charles and Camilla appeared to enjoy the show as Richie performed “All Night Long,” at one point getting up on their feet and swaying along to the music. Other members of the royal family, including 8-year-old Princess Charlotte and Prince George, 9, waved Union flags along with a crowd of some 20,000 gathered on the castle’s east terrace.

LONDON: Several leaders and official representatives of Gulf countries were among the estimated 2,000 guests at the coronation of the United Kingdom’s King Charles III at Westminster Abbey in London on Saturday.

As announced on Thursday, ��Ƶ was represented by Prince Turki bin Mohammad bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, a minister of state and cabinet member, who attended the historic ceremony on behalf of King Salman. With him was Prince Khalid bin Bandar bin Sultan, the Saudi ambassador to the UK.

LONDON: King Charles III was crowned at Westminster Abbey in London on Saturday in a ceremony replete with ancient traditions, regal pomp and circumstance and a sprinkling of the modern.

The grand old church, which has been the site of coronations of 39 monarchs before Charles, was packed to the rafters with 2,000 attendees as international dignitaries and nobles mixed with specially invited members of the public.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif conveyed best wishes from the people of Pakistan to King Charles III on his coronation ceremony of the new British monarch, said an official statement released in Islamabad on Saturday.

Sharif went to the United Kingdom on Wednesday to attend the star-studded gathering in London where he also participated in a conference of top Commonwealth leaders.

LONDON: King Charles III was crowned on Saturday in Britain’s biggest ceremonial event for seven decades, a sumptuous display of pageantry dating back 1,000 years.

In front of a congregation of about 100 world leaders and a television audience of millions, the Archbishop of Canterbury, the spiritual leader of the Anglican Church, slowly placed the 360-year-old St Edward’s Crown on Charles’ head as he sat upon a 14th-century throne in Westminster Abbey.

The historic and solemn event dates back to the time of the 74-year-old’s predecessor William the Conqueror in 1066.

RIYADH: Saudi Minister of State Prince Turki bin Mohammed bin Fahd attended a reception held by King Charles III on Friday ahead of the coronation this weekend, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Prince Turki, who is a representative of King Salman to the state event, conveyed the Saudi king’s greeting on the royal occasion.
King Charles expressed his thanks and appreciation to the king and his crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman.
The reception was also attended by the Saudi ambassador to the UK, Prince Khalid bin Bandar.
