He holds a bachelor’s degree in geography from King Saud University (KSU) in Riyadh.</p> <p> Al-Qahtani began his career in academia in 1981 as a lecturer in KSU’s geography department.</p> <p> In 1994, he moved to the UK to pursue his doctorate, which he completed in 1998.
