Minister of Labor and Social Development Mufrej Al-Haqabani engaged in talks with Vice President of Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd Mick Lang to benefit from the company's experience and expertise in the telecommunication and IT fields as well as transfer such expertise to the Saudi labor market.
The meeting was in sync with the ministry's efforts to nationalize the telecom sector as both parties discussed training opportunities for Saudi nationals to meet the needs of the sector.
Touring the Huawei's headquarters, Al-Haqabani came into contact with the-state-of-art technologies that company has made recently, listening to senior officials who elaborated on high-tech workplace and remote work.
A meeting was held between the minister and the Huawei's executives to discuss conveyance of knowledge into the Saudi mobile business that would lead to providing decent job opportunities for male and female youths and preparing them through advanced training programs.
Meanwhile, Al-Haqabani addressed potential cooperation between Huawei and Saudi companies that may generate training and employment opportunities for Saudi men and women who are willing to polish their skills and capabilities in the telecommunication sector.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister for International Labor Affairs of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development Ziyad Al-Sayegh as the minster was heading the Saudi delegation taking part at the G20 Labor and Employment Ministerial Meetings held in Beijing from July 1 to 13.
