Border Guard teams rescue 16 from drowning in EP

DAMMAM: The search and rescue teams of Border Guard in the Eastern Province (EP) have rescued 16 people from drowning during Eid holidays, according to a website.
Capt. Omar bin Mohammad Al-Aklabi, spokesman for the Border Guard in the Eastern Province, said the teams in Salwa strip received information about a child getting drowned at Al-Oqair beach. The teams rushed to the spot, rescued the child and provided first aid. Red Crescent then admitted the child to Al-Ayoun Hospital.
He said the search and rescue teams in Alkhobar tackled 13 incidents of drowning during Eid holidays. They made extra efforts at Half Moon Beach, rescued all of them and provided first aid. Some of those who were rescued were admitted to King Fahd Hospital in Dhahran for medical aid.
In Al-Khafji, a team on patrol duty saved two swimmers from drowning as they were being sucked away by strong currents.
Al-Aklabi said such operations demonstrate that the search and rescue teams of the Border Guard have been effectively performing their duties.
