Citizens and expatriates on sightseeing trips in the capital city of Riyadh found the 99-floor Kingdom tower as one of the most attractive spots in the capital, especially during the night time when it provides an amazing panoramic view of the city.
In addition to some newly inaugurated parks and tourist spots in Riyadh, there are now a number of towers under construction, but the Kingdom Tower remains a landmark due to its strategic place in the center of the city.
“I have been residing here for nearly 12 years but never tried to see this wonderful place,” said a Filipino family visiting the top of the tower for the first time.
The family head told Arab News: “This is an amazing view; you can see the beauty of Riyadh. At its every corner you can see sparkling lights. I wish expatriates like me come here to take a grand view of the city.”
A newlywed Saudi from Qassim, who introduced himself as Ali, told Arab News that many Saudis go abroad during the Eid holiday because most of them never explore what we have here in our cities. “My visit here this time has made me realize how rich and attractive our tourist places are,” Ali said.
The tower, which rises over 300 m and has a gross built-up area of 185,000 sqm plus 115,000 sqm, won the prize for the world’s skyscrapers in 2003 by the World Skyscrapers Commission, out of 350 buildings worldwide.
Manned by the hospitality personnel with formal attire, guests and visitors are welcomed in a very cordial manner, with ‘ladies first’ in place. “If you are a fan of selfie, you should visit this place to enjoy the magnificent capital overview,” a staff member told Arab News.
