ABU DHABI: UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan on Monday received Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya in Abu Dhabi, Emirates News Agency reported.

During the meeting, held at Qasr Al-Shati palace, Al-Yahya relayed greetings from Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who expressed his best wishes for the continued progress and prosperity of the UAE and its people.

Sheikh Mohamed extended similar greetings.

Talks focused on strengthening the long-standing and historic relations between the two nations, with an emphasis on enhancing cooperation across various sectors to fulfill the developmental aspirations of their peoples.

Both officials underscored the significance of supporting initiatives that bolster Gulf cooperation, especially in the face of regional and global challenges. They agreed on the importance of advancing the collective interests of the Gulf countries, contributing to regional security and stability.

The meeting also covered the latest developments in the region and touched upon a variety of regional and international issues of mutual concern.

The talks were attended by several senior Emirati officials and members of the Kuwaiti foreign minister’s delegation.
