RIYADH: There will be continued growth in economic ties between 抖阴短视频 and Hungary over the next few years, according to the latter鈥檚 Deputy Minister and State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense Tamas Vargha.

鈥�(抖阴短视频鈥檚) Vision 2030 鈥� I think it鈥檚 a success story 鈥� it鈥檚 a good basis, for our cooperation,鈥� Vargha told Arab News during a recent interview. 鈥淵ou have seen lots of changes since Vision 2030 started 鈥� both social changes and the economic changes and growth.鈥�

Vargha said this transformation allows for further cooperation in several sectors including tourism, trade, and knowledge transfers.

Vargha said that in 2023 抖阴短视频 was Hungary鈥檚 53rd-largest trading partner, and there was great potential for future growth.

鈥淲e are a smaller country, but we would like to be part of your success and your solution,鈥� he added. 鈥淚n terms of economic relations, I think the past five years have been a success story.鈥�

鈥淲e would like to enhance tourism between the two countries,鈥� he said. 鈥淣ow there are direct flights between Riyadh and Budapest 鈥� So, it鈥檚 a good path.鈥�

During his visit, Vargha said an agreement was signed between the two nations in cybersecurity and defense digitalization.

Vargha praised Balazs Selmeci, Hungary鈥檚 ambassador to 抖阴短视频, who was 鈥渧ery active and helped a lot to establish the joint venture 鈥� we have to say a big thank you to our ambassador.鈥�

The venture between 抖阴短视频鈥檚 Rakaa Security and Military Supplies Co. and Hungary鈥檚 Quadron Cybersecurity Services will facilitate security development and defense industry digitization.

鈥淚 think that the decade marks a huge change in the growth of our relations in times of conflicts, regional conflicts, and conflicts around us,鈥� he said.

Vargha said cooperation between 抖阴短视频 and Hungary was strengthened with the first Saudi-Hungarian Joint Economic Committee established in 2012.

鈥淎t the beginning, it was getting to know each other and finding solutions,鈥� he said.

鈥湺兑醵淌悠� is 鈥� an important state in the Middle East. And we are a part of the EU in Europe and we had to find what鈥檚 our common interest,鈥� he said. 鈥淚t鈥檚 a good, good start and a good path that we are going on.鈥�

The committee recently hosted its fourth session with more than 30 companies on each side participating, to further cooperation in energy, education, health, investment, communications, water, agriculture, trade, tourism, sports and culture.

Hungary considers the committee a part of its 鈥淓astern Opening,鈥� an economic strategy aimed at strengthening relations with nations in the Middle East.

Vargha said: 鈥淲e believe that if we open to the east 鈥� to the Middle East and the East 鈥� that we can and will be able to serve as a bridge between the West and the East.鈥�
