JEDDAH: A 104-year-old woman from Iraq has been identified as the oldest Hajj pilgrim to visit the Kingdom so far this year.

Kazimiya Hatim was welcomed with great fanfare when she arrived at Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah on May 25.

More than 33,000 Iraqi pilgrims are expected to visit ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ during the Hajj period.

Iraqi agent Ali Abd Al-Rida Khazim accompanied Kazimiya from Madinah to Makkah aboard the Al-Haramain train, after performing their visit to the Prophet’s Mosque.

He said Kazimiya had been determined to join the Hajj pilgrimage and her presence was a source of pride and happiness for the Iraqi Hajj mission and the Iraqi community in general.

He said she was in good health but was being regularly monitored.

Kazimiya said she was happy to be in the Kingdom for Hajj and appreciated the warm welcome and good service she and her companions had received.
