Abdulaziz Ibrahim Alnowaiser was recently appointed CEO of King Abdullah Economic City by the board of directors of Emaar, the Economic City, effective May 1, 2024.
Alnowaiser has been chosen for his ability to drive the company’s long-term strategic vision. Cyril Piaia, the current CEO, will take up the role of adviser to Alnowaiser, ensuring a seamless transfer of responsibilities.
As CEO, Alnowaiser will be responsible for bringing strategic insight to EEC’s and KAEC’s long-term planning, fostering innovation and sustainable development across the organization and the city.
With more than two decades of executive and board-level experience, Alnowaiser brings with him a wealth of experience in management, finance and corporate governance.
His most recent role was as the CEO of Tahakom Investments Co., a wholly owned company of the Public Investment Fund with subsidiaries in several sectors, including technology, aviation, traffic management, travel and visa solutions, human resources, and real estate investments.
He has previously held several senior positions, among them CEO of Arabian Internet and Communications Services Co., chief financial officer of Al-Othaim Real Investment and Development Co., and CEO of the House of National Consulting Co.
Alnowaiser has been chairman of the board and executive committee at Tawuniya Insurance Co. since 2020, and was a board member from 2015 to 2019.
He has degrees in accounting, finance, and information systems, a diploma in international financial reporting standards, and other professional certifications.
