Zaid bin Kami was elected to the board of directors of the Saudi Journalists Association on Jan. 28.
A Saudi journalist with a focus on economics, Bin Kami has been immersed in the field since 2001, reporting for notable Saudi media outlets such as Al-Watan and Asharq Al-Awsat.
Over the years, he has taken on roles in both print and visual journalism, including in television production.
Beyond his journalistic endeavors, he has also imparted his insights as a visiting lecturer at several Saudi universities.
Bin Kami has made significant contributions on the international stage, representing ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ at numerous conferences.
He served as economic editor at Asharq Al-Awsat in 2006 and later took on the role of editor-in-chief in 2012.
Relocating to London in 2015, he assumed the role of assistant to the editor-in-chief before his recent appointment as deputy editor-in-chief by the Saudi Research and Media Group in January 2024.
Bin Kami played a pivotal role in establishing monthly media gatherings in Riyadh, which began in 2006 and hosted key media figures from ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ.
He has also represented Saudi journalism internationally, appearing at conferences addressing the impact of terrorism on the tourism sector post-9/11, in London in 2002.
Furthermore, he represented Saudi journalism in Argentina and Uruguay as part of a delegation that included officials from the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Commerce, and the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization, which investigated facts in South American countries in 2003.
Bin Kami has trained numerous Saudi journalists to assume future leadership roles, preserving the Kingdom’s legacy and documenting progressive changes in the country.
