RIYADH: The Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah is furnished with over 25,000 carpets for the comfort of worshipers and pilgrims, Saudi Press Agency reported on Tuesday.
The carpets are laid out in the mosque, its courtyards, and its roof section, and are sterilized and perfumed daily with the finest types of fresheners to ensure they are clean and fragranced for worshippers.
The luxurious carpets are distinguished by their strength and thickness. Each carpet has an electronic chip to track its location and the time it was cleaned, perfumed, lifted, and moved for washing and sterilizing purposes.
