- Prince Faisal stressed the importance of all parties to the conflict adhering to the stipulations of international humanitarian law
RIYADH: Ƶ’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan held talks with his German counterpart Annalena Baerbock in the capital, Riyadh, the state-run SPA news agency reported on Saturday.
Prince Faisal and Baerbock discussed the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and the region, and international efforts toward resolving the conflict.
“They also emphasized the need for all conflicting parties to adhere to the provisions of international humanitarian law, including ceasing targeting civilians,” SPA said.
The two ministers stressed the need for the international community to shoulder its responsibility and bring about an immediate cease-fire, work to reach a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue, based on UN Security Council resolutions, and urgently deliver medical and relief supplies to the residents of the besieged Gaza Strip.
The meeting comes as Israeli forces continue their deadly assaults on the Palestinian enclave that have left more than 11,000 people dead, nearly half of them children, in response to a surprise attack by Hamas on Israel on Oct. 7.
