UAE’s Al-Shehhi and Al-Kubaisi win jiu-jitsu gold at World Combat Games

ABU DHABI: The UAE Jiu-Jitsu National Team have continued their impressive run at international competitions with four gold medals at the World Combat Games in Riyadh this week.

Khaled Al-Shehhi and Abdullah Al-Kubaisi secured gold in the 62 kg and 94 kg categories, respectively, joining their teammates Saeed Al-Kubaisi (85 kg) and Omar Al-Suwaidi (56 kg), who also clinched gold on Tuesday.

Fahad Al-Shamsi, secretary-general of the UAE and Asian jiu-jitsu federations and head of the team’s delegation to the tournament, said: “I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the national team for this well-deserved achievement, which underscores the UAE’s dominance on the international jiu-jitsu stage.”

Al-Shehhi dedicated his gold medal to the people and leadership of the UAE. He said he would continue to work hard to ensure the national team’s success on the international stage.
