ABUJA: King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center distributed 11 tons and 780 kgs of food baskets in Nigeria, benefiting 1,200 people, within the framework of the Feeding Basket Project.
The center recently launched a food distribution project in Mauritania. Mohammed Ayed Al-Balawi, Saudi ambassador to Mauritania, and several government officials attended the inauguration ceremony. The project aims to distribute 2,686 food baskets weighing 134 tons and 300 kgs, which include basic foodstuffs, benefiting 16,116 people in Nouakchott.
In Asia, the center distributed three tons and 153 kgs of food baskets in Indonesia, benefiting 112 people. The project aims to distribute 6,687 food baskets, benefiting 33,435 people in Indonesia.
The center also launched the food distribution project in Tajikistan. Walid Abdulrahman Al-Rushaidan, Saudi ambassador to Tajikistan, attended the inauguration event.
The project aims to distribute 2,760 food baskets of 191 tons and 820 kgs, which include basic foodstuffs, benefiting 13,800 people in Tajikistan.
This comes within the relief and humanitarian projects that the Kingdom offers through its humanitarian arm, KSrelief, to provide food security for needy people and countries worldwide.
Earlier this week, Ahmed Al-Bayez, assistant supervisor-general for operations and programs at KSrelief, met with governor of Yemem’s Al-Jawf region, Maj. Gen. Hussein Al-Aji Al-Awadhi.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed issues of common interest related to humanitarian and relief efforts and the development of the Saudi projects implemented in Yemen.
