The former president of Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, George Tanasijevich, has been appointed CEO of the King Salman Park Foundation.

His appointment was announced by the foundation’s board of directors, chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, on Sunday.

The park is one of four major projects launched in Riyadh by King Salman in 2019. Once completed it will span more than 16 sq. km and be the largest urban park in the world.

It is also expected to boost Riyadh’s ranking on a global scale of “most livable cities.”

Tanasijevich has more than 20 years of experience in real estate and recreational facilities development, financial management and legal affairs.

From 2011 to 2020, he was president and CEO of Marina Bay Sands — the world’s most profitable integrated resort that features Singapore’s largest hotel and Sands SkyPark, with its iconic infinity pool.

He also served as managing director of global development for Las Vegas Sands Corp., a world leader in developing and operating first-class resorts.

Tanasijevich had earlier been employed as senior vice president of equity markets at CapitaLand Ltd. and president of General Growth Properties Inc.

He has also served on the boards of US-Japan Business Council Inc., the Singapore International Chamber of Commerce and the Singapore Hotel Association.

He has a law degree from Loyola University and a business degree from the University of Chicago.

The development of King Salman Park includes the construction of several tunnels, bridges and other infrastructure, power stations, a visitor pavilion and the Royal Arts Complex.
