Motaz A. Al-Mashouk has been vice president of engineering services at Saudi Aramco since April 1, 2022. Before this, he was executive director of engineering services at the company, a positioned he held since July 1, 2020.
Throughout his 20-year career with project management at Aramco as manager and general manager, Al-Mashouk was responsible for executing a diverse portfolio of industrial projects — including iconic building and infrastructure developments.
Many were public-facing projects serving the broader interests of the Kingdom; several of them were accorded royal inauguration. These included King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center, King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture and King Abdullah Sports City.
His tenure with project management included working as a general manager in Community Infrastructure and Public Projects, Public Service Project Management and Southern Area Project Management.
Al-Mashouk also served as the manager of the Southern Area Projects Department, Project Support and Controls Department, and Project Management Office.
Al-Mashouk’s earlier career with Aramco entailed professional and managerial assignments within the Engineering Services organization.
Al-Mashouk holds a bachelor’s degree and a doctorate from the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, London, UK.
He also holds an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
