ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Saturday it would set up a training camp for Pakistani cricketers from June 1 for the upcoming three-match one-day international (ODI) series against the West Indies.

The ODIs were part of the West Indies tour of Pakistan in December 2021, though they were indefinitely postponed after five COVID-19 cases were reported among the visiting team.

“The national cricket team’s training camp for the West Indies series will start from June 1 in Lahore,” read a PCB statement. “Members part of the 16-man squad selected against the visitors are directed to report to Lahore.”

The West Indies are expected to arrive in Pakistan on June 5 and play the three ODIs on June 8, 10 and 12. While the training camp will be held in Lahore, all matches are so far scheduled to take place in Rawalpindi.

The series will be part of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League.

The PCB directed Pakistani cricketers, currently playing for English counties, to report to the camp from June 1.
