Yousef Abdullah Al-Benyan is the CEO of Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC), one of the world’s largest diversified petrochemicals companies.Â
Before leading SABIC, Al-Benyan held several posts within the company including executive vice president and chief financial officer.Â
After earning a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in industrial management, Al-Benyan joined SABIC in 1987 as a business development specialist before joining SABIC’s corporate communications division. In 2002, he was promoted to general manager of SABIC Asia, where he made significant contributions to SABIC’s growth in the Asian market, especially in China.Â
Al-Benyan also chairs the boards of Yanbu National Petrochemical Company, the ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵn Fertilizer Company, and SABIC’s localization engine Nusaned.Â
Al-Benyan is also a board member of the Saudi Ports Authority, the King Abdulaziz City for Science & Technology, and the King Saud University Advisory Board.
