QNB, or Qatar National Bank, is a Qatari multinational commercial bank located in Doha.
It was founded in 1964 as the country’s first Qatari-owned commercial bank, with an ownership structure split between the Qatar Investment Authority (50 percent) and the remaining half held by members of the public.
QNB expanded its networks to support the vision of becoming a leading bank in the Middle East, Africa, and Southeast Asia. In addition, the bank is establishing a foothold in highly competitive markets, including Hong Kong, where it recently opened its first branch.
QNB also started operating in Vietnam in 2015 and Myanmar in 2016, along with opening new branches in ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ and India in 2017.
Currently ranked as the most valuable bank brand in the Middle East and Africa, QNB is also the official Middle East and Africa supporter of the FIFA World Cup 2022.
In 2016, a leak of data from the bank containing the personal data of the bank’s clients, as well as credit card information and passwords, was made public.
