Habib Abdullah Al-Shammari has been the communications manager at the Agricultural Development Fund since March 2020. The fund recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the Federation of Saudi Chambers to stimulate Saudi agricultural investment. The agreement also aims to support and develop opportunities for international partnerships, agreements and initiatives to serve businesses in the agricultural sector.
Al-Shammari’s job responsibilities include overseeing the fund’s media communication strategies, planning for events and exhibitions, and managing news and content writing.
Before joining the Agricultural Development Fund, Al-Shammari worked for three years for the Riyadh-based King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies, where he was media and online publishing manager.
At the center, he managed internal and external communication strategies. He was responsible for the center’s presence on social media, which included launching campaigns and adverts, and also worked on analytical studies to reinforce that presence.
For nearly six months beginning in September 2016, he served as a media and public relations manager at Tatweer Co. for Educational Services. His tasks included heading the company’s social media planning team, as well as managing media and online public relations. From 2004 to 2006, he worked as a media and public relations specialist at the King Abdulaziz Center for National Dialogue.
A-Shammari received an IT technical support diploma in 2004 from the Riyadh College of Technology. In 2013, he earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism and international relations from the University of Portsmouth in the UK, and later obtained a master’s degree in media management from the University of Westminster, London.
