ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan will visit Ƶ on the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman, the PM’s adviser on the Middle East said on Monday, adding that the three-day trip would commence on October 23.
This will be the second visit of Khan to Ƶ this year. He visited the Kingdom last in May and signed several agreements.
“Prime Minister Imran Khan is going on a three day official visit to Ƶ on October 23,” special representative to the Prime Minister on the Middle East and religious harmony, Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, told Arab News. “He [Khan] will participate in the Green Middle East Initiative conference in Riyadh.”
The conference is to be held in Riyadh on October 25.
“There will be a bilateral meeting with the crown prince along with different meetings with Saudi government officials,” he said. “Pakistan and Ƶ are expected to sign an MOU on green and clean cooperation,” Ashrafi said, adding that issues related to the Muslim world would also be discussed at the meetings.
Ashrafi said the PM would perform Umrah during the trip and visit the tomb of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in Medina.
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, the PM’s adviser on climate change Malik Amin Aslam and Ashrafi will be part of the Pakistani delegation.
