DUBAI: Ƶ's Minister of Commerce vowed Monday to support Iraq on “all levels” along with investment opportunities across the country.
Majid bin Abdullah Al Qasabi said both countries’ interests were aligned, while being linked by “language, Arabism, blood and religion.”
After reopening the Arar border crossing for trade for the first time in 30 years in Nov. 2020, Qasabi said Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman and Iraq’s Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi are currently looking at other port openings.
He also expressed support for Kadhimi’s reform initiatives, with Iraq set to hold early parliamentary elections in October.
He stressed that the Kingdom’s first and last concern was to support Iraq and its stability, indicating that the Kingdom supported Iraq in the reconstruction of cities liberated from Daesh through the Saudi Investment Fund.
