MAKKAH: The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques distributed 12,000 umbrellas to worshippers and workers at the Grand Mosque on Friday so they can be protected from the sunshine and heat during this year’s Hajj season.
The director general of the social services department at the general presidency, Janadi bin Ali Madkhali, said the presidency is keen to maintain the safety of visitors and pilgrims along with security staff and health workers at the Grand Mosque.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah said pilgrims will be received on Saturday and Sunday in four centers. They will be transported to the Grand Mosque by bus to perform the arrival tawaf before heading to the holy sites.
