JEDDAH: ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ on Saturday reported 1,106 new COVID-19 cases, raising the country’s total number of confirmed infections to 448,284.

There are 10,013 active cases, with 1,394 of these in a critical condition.

According to Ministry of Health figures, Makkah had the highest number of new cases with 325, followed by Riyadh with 319, and the Eastern Province with 143. Jouf recorded four new cases.

There were a further 14 coronavirus-related deaths, raising the death toll to 7,334.

The ministry also reported that 1,274 more patients had recovered from COVID-19, bringing this total to 430,937.

Riyadh had the highest number of recoveries with 326, while Jouf had the lowest with seven.

It said that more than 13.8 million coronavirus vaccine doses had been administered so far, with nearly 40 percent of the Kingdom’s 34.8 million population receiving at least one dose.

There were more than 78,000 PCR tests carried out in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number conducted since the onset of the pandemic to more than 19 million.

Testing hubs and treatment centers have been set up throughout the country. They have dealt with hundreds of thousands of people since the outbreak began.

Taakad centers provide COVID-19 testing for people who show no or mild symptoms or believe they have come into contact with an infected individual.

Tetamman clinics offer treatment and advice to those with virus symptoms such as fever, loss of taste and smell, and breathing difficulties.

Appointments for both services can be made via the ministry’s Sehhaty app.
