RIYADH: The Saudi Railways Co. (SAR) on Tuesday launched its SAR Pioneers Program, which aims to develop the capabilities of fresh Saudi male and female graduates wishing to join the company.
Abdul Rahman Turkistani, director of human resources and support services, said the program seeks to attract local talent in various disciplines and provide them training.
The company will start evaluation of applicants on April 29. Following the final selection of candidates, training will begin in August.
Turkistani said the program includes several training courses and on-job training in various departments and stations.
In addition to passing an entry test, applicants must be fluent in English with a GPA of 2.75 out of 4 or 3.75 out of 5 or a score of 80 percent in the last academic examination.
Selected trainees will go through several stages. During the training, they will be assigned different tasks in different departments of the company to make them understand the overall workflow.
The program also includes advances courses and training sessions with the leading international railway companies.
