LONDON: Ƶ welcomed the announcement of a transitional leadership in Libya on Friday.
A foreign ministry statement said the Kingdom hoped the step would “achieve security, stability and development in Libya,” and praised UN efforts in helping to bring the agreement about.
The Kingdom hoped that “this achievement will preserve the unity and sovereignty of Libya, which will lead to the exit of all foreign fighters and mercenaries, and establish a permanent solution that prevents external interference that endangers Arab regional security,” the statement added.
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) said that it hoped the formation of a transitional leadership in Libya would lead to the establishment of security and stability in the country.
Delegates from Libya’s warring factions on Friday selected four leaders to guide the North African country through to national elections in December in a major step toward unifying a nation with two separate governments in the east and west.
