RIYADH: Saudi forces have busted a drug smuggling ring, seizing a massive haul of more than 20 million amphetamine tablets inside a grapefruit shipment, state news agency, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Friday.
General Directorate of Narcotics Control spokesman, Captain Mohammed bin Khaled Al-Najidi, said security officials monitoring activities of criminal networks, in coordination with the General Customs Authority, thwarted an attempt to smuggle 20,190,500 pills through the Jeddah Islamic Port. .
He said eight people were arrested - two Saudi citizens and six residents.
