Maj. Raed Al-Maliki, spokesman for the Special Forces for Environmental Security, said both violators have been referred to relevant authorities to complete procedures against them. The seized firewood was handed to the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture.
The ministry campaigns are also aimed at raising awareness, enacting legislative regulations, limiting the deterioration and destruction of vegetation cover, and reducing the extinction of some rare types of trees and occurrence of an ecological imbalance.
