RIYADH: The involvement of Saudi businessmen and women during the Kingdom’s G20 presidency has been “remarkable,” business leaders told a web forum on Thursday.
Yousef Al-Benyan, chair of B20 Ƶ, which consists of businesses from the G20 countries, said there would be more participation available for members of the Kingdom’s business community in the future.
He was speaking at a webinar hosted by the Communication and Financial Knowledge Center (CFKC), a Ministry of Finance initiative, to discuss B20 Ƶ’s objectives and roles.
“G20 countries represent more than 80 percent of the world's GDP, 75 percent of the global trade, and 70 percent of the world's population,” Al-Benyan said.
“Its decisions have a profound impact, and it is creating momentum to strengthen reform efforts at national and global levels.”He said B20 Ƶ’s discussions aim at developing recommendations for effective and implementable policies.Ƶ will host this year’s G20 Summit of the world's largest economies in November.As the holder of the G20 presidency, the Kingdom has already led a series of meetings in the areas of health, energy and education.In March, Ƶ hosted an extraordinary G20 meeting on global efforts to tackle the coronavirus pandemic.
