Amer Al-Hamoud was recently appointed a member of Ƶ’s Film Authority board of directors.
The Film Authority will be responsible for developing the industry by creating and proposing strategies for the sector.
Al-Hamoud has been the director of the Riyadh-based Ƶn Society for
Culture and Arts (SASCA) since January 2019.
He has been a member of the standing committee of the National Theater in the Gulf Cooperation Council since 2012.
Al-Hamoud has been the CEO of Layali Media Productions since its establishment in 1988 in Riyadh.
He has judged several national and regional competitions such as the Riyadh Youth Theater Competition in 2018, the film competition at the Saudi Colors Festival in 2017, the Cairo Television Festival in Egypt in 2009 and the Sharjah Theater Festival in the UAE in 2007.
Between 2008 and 2012, Al-Hamoud served as a member of the advisory committee for SASCA’s theater.
He has also been granted several awards such as an honorary award from the Kingdom’s Ministry of Culture and Information on the occasion of World Theater Day in 2018.
He also won a bronze award for the series “Noura” at the 8th Gulf Festival for Radio and Television Production in Bahrain and a silver award for a TV Evening Special in 2004.
Al-Hamoud was declared best director by the National Council for Culture and Arts in Kuwait at the Second Annual Theatre Competition in 2002-2003 for the production of the play “The Fear.”
