DUBAI: The Omani government has flown home during the past two days about 740 nationals stranded abroad but wished to be returned to the Sultanate, bringing the total to 3,746 repratriates.
Among those in the repatriation flights earlier serviced by Oman Air were students studying abroad. The national carrier in its Facebook account said it has earlier brought home Omani nationals from Madinah, Riyadh and Dammam in ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ and from Tasmania.
Some Omanis chose to stay abroad when flights were sent to bring them back along with their compatriots, state news agency ONA reported.
The Sultanate meanwhile reported its fourth death on Sunday, an expatriate aged 37, due to the coronavirus disease.
The country’s health ministry also said that 109 coronavirus patients have recovered from the 599 confirmed cases, of which 53 of them were reported on Sunday.
