RIYADH: ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ’s security forces announced a series of arrests made in a video published on Saturday on their official Twitter account.
Among those arrested was a group of Indian residents in Riyadh that were accused of stealing electrical equipment and copper circuit breakers from the country’s government-owned electricity company. Others. who violated residency and work permits by hiding in caves in the mountains, were also apprehended.
Two people were also arrested after evidence was found that they were involved in a number of crimes involving impersonating security officers and stopping passers-by to take their money, as well as stealing a vehicle.
A man who published a video of stores with empty shelves that were being cleaned but spread rumors about a dearth in goods in stores across the country was also arrested for spreading misinformation in the Eastern Province, while another was detained for filming himself inside a store saying things that were not in line with the values and morals of the country, including sexual references.
Two men were arrested for violating the lockdown curfew, implemented by the government in order to curb the spread of coronavirus, while boasting about it and publishing the videos on social media. A man was also arrested for harassing minors via a live stream, while another published a video took advantage of the quarantine by offending other people and regions in the country.
