Dr. Mohammed Al-Surf is the regional manager and market developer at Green Business Certification Inc.
He became the first Saudi to obtain a participant sustainability certificate from the International Society of Sustainability Professionals, joining a global group of less than 400 holders of the accreditation in the field of sustainability.
Al-Surf gained a bachelor’s degree in architecture from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in 2007. During his study period at the university, he was a member of the student cultural club for one year and then joined the College of Environmental Design Club for four years carrying out several roles, including assistant club president.
In 2009 he received a graduate certificate in built environment and engineering from The University of Queensland (UQ) in Australia and the following year obtained a master’s degree in project management from the same university. He also gained a Ph.D. in property and planning from UQ in 2014.
Between 2013 and 2014, he was a multimedia manager and photographer in the Saudi Student Association in Brisbane, Australia.
