- Ambassador stressed that she would remain fully engaged on the matter
- Princess Reema met with command of base and reiterated her condemnation of the attack
PENSACOLA, Florida: Ƶ's ambassador to the US Princess Reema bint Bandar Al-Saud visited the Naval Air Station Pensacola in Florida on Thursday to personally extend her deepest condolences for the tragedy that unfolded last week and to reinforce Ƶ’s full cooperation with US authorities in investigating the attack.
During her visit, the Ambassador met with the command of the base and reiterated her condemnation of the attack.
The ambassador said that she would remain fully engaged on the matter and would provide any assistance possible to accelerate the investigation.
Investigators believe a Saudi Air Force lieutenant acted alone when he killed three people and wounded eight at the US Navy base before being fatally shot by police, the FBI said on Sunday.
Rachel Rojas, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Jacksonville office, said the shooter used a Glock model 45 9mm handgun that he had purchased legally in Florida.
“We currently assess there was one gunman who perpetrated this attack and no arrests have been made in this case,” Rojas, the lead investigator on the case, said at a news conference.
“We are looking very hard at uncovering his motive and I would ask for patience so we can get this right,” she said.
