RIYADH: Yemen’s government condemned Iran for supplying the Houthis with weapons and ballistic missiles on Thursday, a day after the USsaid it had seized guided missile parts heading to the country.
Yemen’s government added that it would not allow the country to be used for “Iranian projects” that threatened international navigation anddestabilized the security and stability of neighboring countries.
USofficials said Wednesday that theUSS Forrest Shermanlast week seized a “significant cache” of suspected Iranian guided missile parts from a small ship in the northern Arabian Sea.
The weapons have been linked to Iran, the officials said.
Houthis have used ballistic missiles to repeatedly target Ƶ during the conflict in Yemen.
The Yemeni government said peace would not be achieved in Yemen as long as Iran continued with such aggressive behavior.
