Dr. Raja Allah Al-Sulami has been the secretary-general of the Arab Football Federation since December 2017.
Al-Sulami is also the deputy head for youth affairs at the Saudi General Sport Authority and a professor of communication skills at the Faculty of Communication and Media at King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah.
Previously, Al-Sulami was the general director of the president’s office at the General Presidency of Youth Welfare, before it was renamed the General Sports Authority. He then became the sports authority media department’s general supervisor.
He was also the director of the media department at, and spokesperson for, the Jeddah Education Directorate between 2004 and 2011.
Al-Sulami had been a freelance radio and TV broadcaster since 1997, working with Jeddah Radio station, Arab Radio and Television Network and MBC Arabic.
He received his master’s from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah, and his doctorate from the Faculty of Communication and Media from the same university.
The Arab Football Federation General Assembly will hold its 25th meeting in Jeddah on Monday to elect its new president.
A meeting will be held before the election to discuss the federation’s upcoming activities, including the 2019/2020 Mohammed VI Champions Cup.
