Saudi Broadcasting Authority winstop prize in 20th Arab Radio and Television Festival

RIYADH: The Saudi Broadcasting Authority (SBA) was awarded first prize for comprehensive radio exchanges in the field of coordination between Arab radio stations.

The competition was held on the sidelines of the 20th Arab Radio and Television Festival, which was held in Tunis between June 27 and 30.

On the third and final day of the festival a cooperation agreement was signed between the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) and the “Ilamiune” Saudi organization.

The agreement signed by Abdul Rahim Suleiman, general director of ASBU, and Saud Al-Gharbi, CEO of Ilamiune, included organizing joint training workshops for the exchange of skills in all Arab countries aimed at developing the Arab media sector and boosting joint action between Arab media outlets.

The last day also witnessed the honoring of the members of the juries, media professionals and specialists in the field of radio and TV. An engineering workshop was also held on digital land radio transmission in Tunis, with the participation of specialists, members, and representatives of the Union.

Earlier, the Tunisian minister of communication technologies and digital economy, Mohammed Al-Anouar Maarouf, opened the ASBU Exhibition for Radio and TV and Shows Market in Tunis.

The exhibition includes 59 pavilions for member commissions, radio stations, Arab TV networks, Arabic-language channels, production and distribution companies, international broadcasting equipment manufacturers and suppliers of related services and technology.
