Dr. Abdul Moneim bin Abdul Salam Al-Hayani, vice president at King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah

Dr. Abdul Moneim bin Abdul Salam Al-Hayani is the vice president for educational affairs at King Abdul Aziz University (KAU) in Jeddah.

Al-Hayani is also the chairman of the board of trustees of Ibn Sina Medical College and the editor in chief of the Microscopy and Ultrastructure Journal. In addition, he serves as a professor at the anatomy department of the Faculty of Medicine at KAU.

He has served at KAU for many years in various positions, including as dean of student affairs and head of dementia research. He was vice dean of the medical college and vice president of the medical education unit, and also secretary-general of the Committee of Student Affairs Deans of the Kingdom’s Universities between 2014 and 2018.

Al-Hayani has three registered patents and many specialized papers and publications. 

He holds a bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery and a master’s degree in health services and hospital management from KAU. He earned his doctorate in neurobiology from Aberdeen University in Scotland, UK. He also holds a diploma in forensic science from the University of Glasgow.

KAU has recently launched a Chinese language proficiency test under the supervision of its Chinese Science and Culture Exchange Center. It is the first of its kind in the Kingdom, and consists of a six-level test that assesses non-native Chinese speakers’ ability to use the language in their daily and academic lives. 

 Al-Hayani said that the university’s aim is to promote cultural and academic exchange programs between KAU and distinguished Chinese universities.
