King Salman receives Burkina Faso’s National Assembly president

JEDDAH: King Salman received the president of the National Assembly of the Republic of Burkina Faso, Alassane Bala Sakande, at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah on Sunday. 

During the meeting, the king and Sakande, who is also president of the African Parliamentary Union, reviewed prospects for cooperation particularly between the Saudi Shoura Council and Burkina Faso’s National Assembly.

Shoura Council Speaker Dr. Abdullah Al-Asheikh, Minister of State for African Countries’ Affairs Ahmed bin Abdul Aziz Qattan and other top officials were also present.

On Sunday, the king issued a royal order appointing 54 judges at the Ministry of Justice.

Justice Minister Dr. Walid bin Mohammed Al-Samaani expressed his thanks and appreciation to the king for his continuing support for the judiciary.

On Saturday night, King Salman arrived in Jeddah from Riyadh. The king was accompanied by a number of princes and officials. 

King Salman usually spends the summer months and Ramadan in Jeddah, accompanied by many government workers. In the past years, he spent the last days of Ramadan in Makkah.
