CAIRO: Saudi student Duaa Salah Khurshid was awarded the first prize of the Arab Council for the Gifted and Talented (ACGT) for her invention of an emergency and first-aid device.
Jordanian Faraha Ammar Al-Suleiman won first prize for most distinguished research. Khurshid received her award at the inaugural session of the ACGT’s 13th conference in Cairo, held under the auspices of the Arab League.
“The conference aims to increase public awareness of the needs of our gifted and talented youths,” Inas Al-Farjali, director of the Arab League’s Department of Refugees, Emigrants and Immigration, said in a speech during the inaugural session.
ACGT Chairman Dr. Fathi Jarwan stressed the importance of educational and cultural institutions in sponsoring the gifted and talented.
