Dr. Adnan Al-Humaidan was appointed the president of the University of Jeddah on Feb. 26. He is an academic, professor and a lecturer in the university.

He received his bachelor’s degree from King Abdul Aziz University in 1996, and his Ph.D. in pure mathematics from Cardiff University in the UK in 2002.

For most of his life, he has been affiliated with education and academic institutes in ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ. He worked as a teaching assistant at King Abdul Aziz University at the beginning of his career, and since then he has climbed to success, becoming assistant professor then director of academic affairs. Most of his employment years have been spent at King Abdul Aziz University. He later became an associate professor and, three years later, dean of graduate studies there.

Al-Humaidan’s career at King Abdul Aziz University lasted 14 years. In 2014, when Jeddah University was founded, he joined it immediately as dean of graduate studies.

Apart from his role in the universities, he has also been a member of the committee of education and human resources in 2012, and member of the executive committee of the Center for Strategic Studies in 2013. He was also a member of the standing committee for the scholarship and training of university employees from the administrative and technical staff in 2013.

And then four years later, he became the director of University of Jeddah.

Al-Humaidan is the epitome of hard work and determination, as his journey from assistant teacher to university director has shown.
