ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s government suspended senior bureaucrat Zarrar Haider Khan on Sunday after he stole the wallet of a Kuwaiti dignitary following an official meeting.
Khan, who worked at the Ministry of Industries and Production, was caught on closed-circuit TV (CCTV). The Kuwaiti and his colleagues were visiting Pakistan to explore investment opportunities.
The incident happened after a meeting at the Economic Affairs Division. By the time the Kuwait official realized he had left his wallet on the table, it had already gone missing.
Pakistani authorities investigated the matter and identified the culprit after watching the CCTV footage.
