JEDDAH: A Saudi-led coalition pilot and his assistant were killed in a helicopter crash in Yemen Friday, Saudi Press Agency reported.
Saudi-led coalition Spokesperson Col. Turki Al-Maliki said that a Royal Saudi Land Forces helicopter crashed at 8.20am local time as a result of a technical failure which resulted in the death of the pilot and his assistant in Yemen.
The two men died whilst on duty fighting terrorism and combating smuggling in Al-Mahrah province, eastern Yemen.
Al-Mahrah province, bordering Oman in east Yemen, has seen little fighting compared to the rest of the country.
