Flynas trip showcases tourist sites of Tbilisi

The Saudi media professionals toured a number of prominent landmarks of Georgia.

¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵn budget airline Flynas recently organized a trip to Georgia for journalists working in the Saudi media. The trip aimed to introduce the airline’s new destination of Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, and exploring important tourist and historical sites in the country, in cooperation with the Georgian National Tourism Administration. 

A special program spread over six days from Aug. 26-31, was organized for the media professionals’ trip. The attendees toured prominent landmarks, such as the Georgian National Museum, the Narikala fortress, the sulfur baths of the city’s ancient Abanotubani district, the Bridge of Peace and the Gergeti Trinity Church. 

During their visit, the journalists met with officials from the Georgian National Tourism Administration and discussed a number of issues related to tourism in the country. Later, they toured the eastern Georgian city of Gori and met with Georgian Ambassador to ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ George Jangava and Flynas CEO Bandar Al-Muhanna.

Al-Muhanna welcomed the delegation and praised the generosity of the Georgians. 

Director of Corporate Communications and Spokesperson of Flynas Ahmad Al-Musained said the trip aimed to introduce the Saudi media to Flynas’ new destination — Tbilisi. He said the trip is an important opportunity for Flynas guests to discover the country, get acquainted with its cultures and benefit from the airline’s special offers. 

Al-Musained added that the move also aims at enhancing tourism cooperation between ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ and Georgia and supporting the Kingdom’s tourism industry by building partnerships with other countries to motivate its citizens to visit the Kingdom.

In June, Flynas launched direct flights from Riyadh to a number of new destinations, including Tbilisi, as part of its expansion plan to reach more destinations to meet Saudi market requirements. It is the first national airline to offer direct flights to Tbilisi.

Established in 2007, Flynas is a leading low-cost airline in the Middle East with a fleet of 30 Airbus A320 Aircraft, operating over 1,100 flights weekly to 17 domestic and 53 international destinations. Since its launch, Flynas has successfully carried more than 38 million passengers from its bases of Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Abha. 

The airline has been named the Middle East’s Leading Low-Cost Airline by the World Travel Awards in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018, and also won the Skytrax Award for the Middle East’s Best Low-Cost Airline in 2017 and 2018.
