King Salman receives African leaders in Makkah

King Salman received the presidents of Comoro Islands, Sudan and Gabon, and the UAE foreign minister at Al-Safa Palace in Makkah on Tuesday. (SPA)

MAKKAH: King Salman received President Othman Ghazali of the United Comoro Republic, President Omar Hasan Al-Basheer of the Republic of Sudan, President Ali Bongo Ondimba of the Republic of Gabon and Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, minister of foreign affairs and international cooperation of the UAE, at Al-Safa Place in Makkah on Tuesday.

The meeting was attended by Makkah Governor Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Qassim Gov. Prince Faisal bin Mishaal and other senior officials.

On Wednesday, King Salman issued a directive to pay more than SR1.7 billion ($0.45 billion) to the beneficiaries of social security on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr.

This was announced by Minister of Labor and Social Development Ahmed bin Suleiman Al-Rajhi, who thanked the king for his directive, which will help beneficiaries in meeting their needs during Eid Al-Fitr, and said that the directive reflects the care given by the king to the beneficiaries of social security.

Eligible beneficiaries of the social security program include widows, orphans, deserted family members, and people with temporary or permanent debilitating health conditions and disabilities.
