FaceOf: Prince Faisal bin Bandar, governor of Riyadh region

On behalf of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the governor of Riyadh region, Prince Faisal bin Bandar, patronized the graduation ceremony of the 94th batch of the King Faisal Air Force College on Sunday.

Lt. Gen. Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili, the chief of general staff, and Lt. Gen. Turki bin Bandar bin Abdul Aziz, the commander of the Saudi Royal Air Force, received the Riyadh governor.  During the ceremony, the commander of the college, Maj. Gen. Khalid Al-Laboun, delivered the welcome speech.

The Riyadh governor honored the outstanding students of the batch.

Prince Faisal bin Bandar has been the governor of the Riyadh region since Jan. 29, 2015. Prior to his appointment as the governor of Riyadh region, Prince Faisal bin Bandar served as the director of the organization and administration department of the Ministry of Defense between 1973 and 1974. He served as the director of the training department of the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies between 1974 and 1978 and as the assistant deputy governor of Asir province between 1978 and 1981. Later, he was promoted to the position of the deputy governor of the province, where he remained until 1992. 

He was next appointed as the governor of Al-Qassim. Prince Faisal bin Bandar remained in that position until 2015.

Prince Faisal was born in 1943 and is the eldest son of Prince Bandar bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud.

Prince Faisal attained a bachelor’s degree in business administration from King Saud University in Riyadh in 1969. The Riyadh governor is also a member of the Allegiance Council since its formation in 2007.
