ISLAMABAD: The Pakistani community in the UAE on Friday observed Palestine Solidarity Day, and a function was held at the Pakistani Embassy in Abu Dhabi.
A large number of Pakistanis gathered at the embassy to express solidarity with the Palestinian people and condemn Israeli human rights violations. Moazzam Khan, Pakistan’s ambassador to the UAE, presided over the function.
The moving of the US Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem is a violation of international law and several UN resolutions, he said.
“The government and people of Pakistan stand firmly with the Palestinian people, and renew our call for the establishment of a viable, independent and contiguous state of Palestine on the basis of internationally agreed parameters, the pre-1967 borders, and with Jerusalem as its capital,” he added.
Islamabad strongly condemns the “merciless killings of unarmed and innocent Palestinian protestors by Israeli forces,” Khan said, urging the UN and the international community to investigate the killings and bring an immediate end to the use of force.
