DUBAI: The United States has confirmed its continued support for the Central Bank of Yemen to be a unified and independent entity for all Yemenis, Saudi state-news channel Al-Ekhbariya reported.
The US State Department issued a statement on Monday praising the efforts of the Yemeni Bank’s management to improve its capabilities and overcome the existing technical difficulties, according to the official Yemeni news agency.
The Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen, Mohamed Zemam, recently concluded consultations with the International Monetary Fund going over the capabilities of the Central Bank and development projects in terms of institutional and infrastructure.
